Schweinichen is the German problem child

Ascona - Joachim Loew is already quite nervous. "I feel the passion of the team," says the coach. "The joy of the EM launch is enormous."
Two days before the tournament start Loew really only want to spread positive messages. "I am thoroughly pleased and satisfied with the way it's happened so far." Only there is a problem child in the 23er squad: Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The 23-year-old presented himself weak in the friendlies against Belarus and Serbia and remained at the beginning of the training game against the A-youth of Locarno (8:0) out there.
"He's not his best of form at the moment," said Loew on Thursday cautiously. "Bastian has struggled in the games to its form." But he has achieved it is not.
Therefore, it is conceivable that "Schweini" must at the start against Poland on the bench. "We know his strengths and we know how important it is for us," said Loew. "We are still working on his form."
All other problem children provides the national coach, however in "excellent shape". Whether Christoph Metzelder ( "He needed two games to go through the physical lows") or Miroslav Klose ( "You can feel its dynamics") - all were ready for launch. "Some players have done a tremendous performance. That's what my optimism. "
